BS Public Health (Coming Soon)

Course Details:

The BS Public Health program offers students an interdisciplinary approach to understanding and addressing public health challenges. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, students explore various aspects of public health, including epidemiology, biostatistics, health policy, environmental health, and health promotion.

The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, such as disease prevention, community health assessment, healthcare management, social determinants of health, and global health issues. Students engage in hands-on learning experiences, including fieldwork, internships, and research projects, to apply their knowledge in real-world settings and make a positive impact on the health and well-being of populations.

 

Program Goals:

Promote Health Equity: Address health disparities and inequities by advocating for policies and programs that promote equal access to healthcare services and resources for all individuals and communities.

Prevent Disease and Injury: Implement strategies for disease prevention and injury prevention, including vaccination campaigns, health education programs, and environmental interventions to create healthier communities.

Advocate for Public Health Policies: Advocate for evidence-based public health policies at the local, national, and global levels to improve population health outcomes and address emerging public health threats.

Conduct Health Research: Conduct research to identify health trends, assess community needs, and evaluate the effectiveness of public health interventions, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the field of public health.

Educate and Empower Communities: Educate and empower individuals and communities to make informed decisions about their health and well-being, promoting health literacy and fostering a culture of health within society.

 

Program Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of the BS Public Health program, students will be able to:

Assess Community Health Needs: Conduct community health assessments to identify health needs, disparities, and determinants of health affecting populations.

Design and Implement Health Interventions: Develop and implement evidence-based interventions to address public health challenges, utilizing a variety of strategies and approaches tailored to the needs of diverse communities.

Analyze Health Data: Analyze health data using epidemiological and statistical methods to assess health trends, monitor disease outbreaks, and evaluate the impact of public health programs.

Advocate for Health Equity: Advocate for policies and initiatives that promote health equity, social justice, and human rights, ensuring that all individuals have the opportunity to attain their highest level of health.

Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including policymakers, healthcare professionals, community leaders, and the public, to raise awareness of public health issues and mobilize support for action.

The BS Public Health program prepares graduates for careers in a variety of public health settings, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, healthcare facilities, research institutions, and international organizations. It equips students with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to promote health and prevent disease at the population level, making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities.

Applying for II-TECH Online Admissions Process

II-TECH offers admission opportunities twice a year, during the Fall and Spring semesters. However, admissions for the faculties of engineering, pharmacy, and law are exclusively available in the fall semester. Here’s an overview of II-TECH’s online application process:

Step 1

Begin by visiting our official website at [www.xxxx.pk] to explore our courses and program offerings. Alternatively, you can gather this information by visiting our campus in person. Once you’ve decided on your desired course, you have two options for applying online.

Option 1: Apply Online and Pay Application Fee Online

Sign up online and complete the admission form at [www.cxxx.pk]. You can pay the application processing fee online or at local offices of recognized banks, such as Bank XXX ZZ YY.

Option 2: Pay Application Fee at II-TECH Campus and Apply Online

Choose this option to pay the application processing fee at the II-TECH Admissions Office. Upon payment, you’ll receive a username and password to fill out the online admission form.

Step 2

For those who selected option 1, proceed to [admissions.itech.edu.pk]. Look for the “Apply Online” tab on the right side of your screen, or click on the admissions advertisement displayed when you visit our website.

Step 3

If you’re using option 1 and haven’t registered yet, click “Create Account” to sign up. This will open a new page where you’ll provide essential information for your registration, including:

  • Your Name
  • Mobile Number
  • Email Address
  • CNIC

Step 4

After completing the sign-up form, click “Submit.” You’ll be successfully registered for applying to II-TECH’s online admissions in 2023. An email will be sent to the provided email address, containing your username and password for your online admission application.

 

What If You Have Chosen Option 2?  

If you have decided to pay at the campus instead of online, then you will be provided with the username and password right away. All you have to do is enter this information in the blanks on the admission page, and you will be directed to the online admission application form.

Online Admission Application  

After you enter your username and password, a log-in tab will appear. Click that and the main dashboard will show on your screen. Now tap on the “Application form” and a new page with your online admission form will open.+ This form requires the following information  

A Picture: You will have to upload a clear picture of yourself on the application form.  

  • Personal Information. This consists of four parts as follows: 
  1. Personal Details  
  2. Contact Details  
  3. Parents/Guardian Details  
  4. Fee Payer Details 
  • Academics: This includes your matric and FSc subjects, results, etc.  
  • Program Preference: You can select the program of your choice from the drop-down menu. Please take note that the curriculum you see in the submenu will be based on your previous academic qualifications.  
  • Scholarship: You can apply for different scholarships while filling out the form.
  • Final Submission: Review all of your entered information—including Personal Information, Academics, Program Preference, and Scholarship—carefully. After that, click submit.  

Note: Once you have submitted the form, please remember that you cannot edit or change the details. That is why we would suggest you fill out every piece of information very carefully.  

Selecting Option 2: Paying at the Campus

If you’ve opted to pay at the campus rather than online, you’ll promptly receive your username and password. Simply enter these credentials in the provided blanks on the admission page. This will guide you to the online admission application form.

Online Admission Application

Upon entering your username and password, a login tab will appear. Click it to access the main dashboard. From there, click on “Application Form” to open your online admission form. This form will request the following details:

A Photograph: Attach a clear picture of yourself to the application form.

Personal Information: This segment comprises four parts:

  • Personal Details
  • Contact Details
  • Parents/Guardian Details
  • Fee Payer Details

Academics: Input your matric and FSc subjects, along with your results.

Program Preference: Select your preferred program from the dropdown menu. Note that the available options in the submenu will align with your previous academic achievements.

Scholarship: During form completion, you can apply for various scholarships.

Final Submission: Thoroughly review all provided information—Personal Information, Academics, Program Preference, and Scholarship—before clicking “Submit.”

Important: Once the form is submitted, kindly note that any entered details cannot be edited or modified. We strongly advise careful and accurate completion of all information fields.

Admission and Eligibility

Session: The program is offered in Fall (September) and Spring (February) Session

Qualification: Intermediate or equivalent (‘A’ Level) with minimum 50% marks from accredited institution is required for admission in BS(AF) program.

Test and Score: NTS-NAT test score with minimum 50% marks.

Duration & Semesters: The minimum duration for the completion of this degree is eight semesters (04 Years) and a maximum of twelve semesters (06 Years). The degree will be awarded on completion of minimum 135 credits with a CGPA of at least 2.0/4.

Documents Required: Following documents must be attached with the admission form:

  • Demand Draft in favor of CUI Islamabad from any bank.
  • MATRIC / O-Level mark sheet certificate & Equivalence, (photocopy back to back).
  • FA/FSc / A-Level mark sheet, certificate & Equivalence (photocopy back to back).
  • Copy of NIC / B form.
  • Photographs.
  • Valid NTS Result (photocopy) [if test already given].
  • Paid original copy of NTS Challan Form, [if NTS test not given].
  • Hope Certificate/Affidavit (To be notarized on Rs. 20/- Stamp Paper) mandatory for result awaiting applicants only.
  • Undertaking (To be notarized on Rs. 20/- Stamp Paper) mandatory for all applicants.

Introduction

The Department of Civil Engineering has started PhD program in Civil Engineering by offering courses in the following four areas of interest:

  • Structures
  • Environmental
  • Hydraulics and Irrigation
  • Geotech

The student must select one of the above mentioned areas of interest and complete 18 credit hours in respective area by selecting courses (not previously studied during his/her M.Sc./MSCE degree) from only one of the specified lists. Basically, subjects may be selected by mutual consultation of the scholar and his PhD supervisor. The subjects have to be passed obtaining accumulative CGPA 3.0. It is a mandatory to get at least CGPA 3.0 out of 4.0 as required by HEC to appear in Ph.D. comprehensive exam, otherwise the candidate will not be eligible to continue further Ph.D. research studies. It is mandatory that student must register and success fully complete 30 credit hours of research work and also must fulfill the minimum requirements of Higher Education Commission (HEC) Rules and Regulations.

Course Detail

PLO#1 (Engineering Knowledge): An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
• PLO#2 (Problem Analysis): An ability to identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.
• PLO#3 (Design/Development of Solutions): An ability to design solutions for complex engineering problems and design systems, components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
• PLO#4 (Investigation): An ability to investigate complex engineering problems in a methodical way including literature survey, design and conduct of experiments, analysis and interpretation of experimental data, and synthesis of information to derive valid conclusions
